An outstanding daughter and sister of the soil who will be remembered for her outstanding contribution to education and folk music like no other! A woman who mothered so many of us young people at the training colleges and gave of her life to the service of so many. A woman who taught me what it means to be an educational researcher and to value our great educators like Audrey Jeffers and Carlton Comma. She was indeed before her time in terms of appreciating and valuing indigenous ways of knowing and being and valuing things and people local! Fly high and rest in peace Ma Cuffie--second mother, mentor, scholar extraordinaire!
