Seriously though people have to realise that if things are to run smoothly all those wanting to attend should have registered already. We need to include some discusion on this in a housekeeping session.

The errors occur and when we try to mend them new ones pop up... the contact is more important. Sometimes when i look up I find that I've tapped the CAPS LOCK instead of the SHIFT... I don't always re write so WRITE ON!
Does Bertie still play the piano... it was so good at Mausica to hum a tune and have Bertie accompany you playing by ear. I remember the concert we put on when Mr Girard was leaving and Barbara Mendez and I sang the duet I Hear Music.
About the Bastiens... I don't know if either of them attended Mausica but they are Trinidadians who have done something positive which everyone must support... I hope many of the younger Mausicans turn up because I want to meet them all. The Fyzabad people have dried up on me so we'll have to play it by ear in Tobago. See you soon God willing!

RE: LOCATING MAUSICANS

Hey! This is great to see the names that pop up from time to time. Just a few days ago, I was relating to a friend a story about Bertie Fraser who showed up at a party at my house one New Year's Night, not New Year's Eve, in the mid 70's with two sharp chicks, one on each arm. I would love to get some more news about him.
I am really looking forward to this reunion and regret I will be missing the gala ball, but I must fly over to Saint Lucia on Wednesday for the seminar on juvenile justice which opens there on Thursday as I have a major responsibility for the seminar. Just last week a 15-year- old youth allegedly killed a popular Permanent Secretary on the island who had returned home to find a burgary in progress. The seminar is now more timely than ever.
I met Jack Warner at the Elections and Boundaries office In Arima when I was home recently and he said he was coming to Tobago for the ball.
Love to all,

Hi Folks,
I se some of you saying see you in Tobago. How is that, You have not registered. Remember the affairs are catered therefore the comittee has to supply the hotel with numbers. At this time registration for the tours is closed. You can only register now for the gathering on Sunday and the Gala on Wednesday. Registration for these must be accompanied with payment. We will hold closing these for one more week. That is until July 8th. That will be the final final date.

Joy,
I've gone public with this because it could spur a response from someone else. I don't know whether I ever told you that I met Cynthia Addison a few years years ago at Kings Plaza in Brooklyn. There was a lot of screaming and Ma Labrish kind of behavior in the store. She drove me home and we were in touch but you know the age-old (or is it the old-age) story- I don't know where I wrote the number and she probably has had the reciprocal misfortune. I think the married name is James. Talk to you soon. Myrtle, why haven't you replied to my long, juicy personal email?

Goodmorning Errol,
In reading over the initial email I sent you, I am appalled at the mistakes therein. In my anxiety to get this off to you there were errors that I would normally not ever make. And I was also guilty of the cardinal sin of sending something off without reading it first. This is certainly not representative of me. If this has been posted on the website could you please remove it completely, leaving just my contact information?
With my deepest appreciation,

I have been in Canada since June 28 crisscrossing the country from the East coast to the West Coast and, in doing so, supervising the conduct of the FIFA U 20 competition in six cities - Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria.- of which competition I am the Chairman. I attach for your attention a schedule of my travels throughout Canada as well as the hotels where I shall be staying, their contact numbers etc. If I'm ever in your area, do give me a call so that we can possibly have a "beverage" for ole time sake or even just to simply "renew our vows ". Maureen is with me........... I am asking all those persons to whom I have so informed of schedule to pass on this info to any Mausicans of our years for which I do thank you kindly.

Hi Donald,
.. Good to hear from you...blogging, blogging ,blogging away. Well, I spoke to Garvin on two ocassions in the last year. One was when Jean Reid died and the other ocassion was when Dudley died so you follow. I have left a thousand messages for my dear Garvin but to no avail..he doesn't respond. Elmo caught up with him a couple times delivering mail on Flatbush Ave. He was told that there were plans to retire soon and move to Florida. Don't know if that has taken place yet but I still leave messages on his cell phone...
PS..The very first Mausica meeting was held at Garvin's apartment in Brooklyn when I discovered that Garvin lived only a block away from me. That was in March 1993. He attended a Mausica busride to Atlantic City in 1997, I think .. then we lost contact. I have a cell phone number for him. Will do some resaearch and I'll get back to you. See you in Tobago!.

Well-earned nod to islands
Coral Springs couple gives salute to Trinidad and Tobago
By Alva James-JohnsonSouth Florida Sun-Sentinel
June 25, 2007
For many people, Trinidad and Tobago suggests images of supple bodies gyrating to calypso music or parading Carnival's spectacular costumes.
But the twin-island nation is more than that, as Sandra Bernard-Bastien and Elliot Bastien detail in a new coffee-table book.
In World Class Trinidad and Tobago: An Area of Abundance , the Coral Springs couple offers a panoramic view of their homeland, a Caribbean pantheon of world-renowned scholars, athletes, authors, artists, politicians, beauty queens and business leaders. They hope readers will explore the book's colorful pages this month during Caribbean American Heritage Month.
"Growing up in Trinidad and Tobago, I was always hearing about the great people that the country produced," said Bernard-Bastien, public affairs director for Broward's Children's Services Council. "Yet all that the media outside of Trinidad and Tobago were depicting was the calypso or the limbo or the steel band. It was as though nothing else existed in the country or that nothing else was created there."
Trinidad and Tobago, an area of about 1,980 square miles, is about the size of Delaware. Located just off the northeastern coast of Venezuela, the prosperous Caribbean nation has a bountiful supply of petroleum and natural gas.
The country boasts two Tony Award and two Grammy Award winners, a Miss World, two Miss Universes, four world boxing champions, a Nobel prize winner, two Olympic gold medalists and a foreign minister of China, according to the Bastiens.
It claims as sons and daughters such famous blacks as the late militant Stokely Carmichael (later Kwame Ture), a native of Trinidad; basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the grandson of Trinidadian immigrants; and author Maya Angelou, whose grandfather was also born in Trinidad. Angelou, the book notes, was raised by her grandmother in the United States. But she grew up listening to Caribbean music and was a calypso singer and dancer in the 1950s before launching her writing career.
Immigrants from Trinidad and Tobago are about 17,000 strong in South Florida, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. But community leaders estimate the population at more than 20,000.
A politically quiet community, dispersed from Miami to West Palm Beach, Trinidadians are known mostly for their extravagant Carnivals, an annual tradition among Caribbean people throughout the islands and in North America.
But some immigrants from Trinidad and Tobago also are heavy-hitters in South Florida's business and development arenas. The list includes developers Lawrence Duprey, a Trinidadian billionaire, and George Rahael, a major player in the development of Coral Springs and other parts of Broward County. Duprey is featured in the Bastiens' book.
The Bastiens, both in their 50s, moved to South Florida 11 years ago. As children, they heard their fathers talk about Trinidadians who had excelled in their professions. They set out to preserve the legacy. Their book, published last year by Sekani Publications, includes people born in Trinidad and Tobago or are the descendants of people from the two islands.
The biggest challenge, the couple said, was dwindling down the list to 100.
"People are still calling us and saying, 'you forgot so and so,'" Sandra Bernard-Bastien said. "But we made sure to limit it to people who had made a world-class impression."
The book features such Trinidadian medical pioneers as Dr. Bert Achong, an internationally recognized expert on the study of viruses by electron microscopy. He was part of the team that discovered the first human tumor virus in 1964, and later he found another new virus in human cancer cells, according to the British Medical Journal.
And the Bastiens don't limit the scope of accomplishments to just Trinidadians and Tobagonians. Exceptions include a St. Lucian and a Guadeloupan who won Nobel prizes in literature in 1960 and 1992 and a St. Lucian who won a Nobel prize in economics in 1979.
Trinidadian-born V.S. Naipaul, a novelist and travel writer, won the Nobel prize in literature in 2001.
"A prize as prestigious as the Nobel prize, we wanted to include the entire Caribbean and not just Trinidad and Tobago," said Elliot Bastien, a management consultant. "The statistical odds of having four Nobel prize winners from an area the size of the Caribbean are astronomical."

Hi Mausicans of 73-75,
Presenting one of our newest finds: Mrs. Radica Ramnarine- King. Do you remember her? I am an insurance agent, and through my business came into contact with Miss Radica, quietly hidden in Mt Hope, Trinidad. She is now a mother of three lovely young people and continues to teach at Mt. Hope Junior Secondary School as a Home Ec. teacher.
Also at this school is a Ms. Corinna Burket, whom I have not met as yet. Let's welcome Miss Radica on board. Told her about the reunion, of course.

Hi Dennis,
How are you? Do you still keep in touch with Lancelot Brown and his family? How are Emelda and the Kids?
HUBERT GARVIN,
I see Tantie Hordatt very often. About five years ago we attended The Gethsemane Institute and on one occasion we were studing the mystics of the early church. Miss Hodatt's group concentrated on Julian of Norwich a 15th century mystic, They presented their research in dramatic form and Miss Hordatt performed the part of Julian&n bsp; in costume and all. She was just great and when I shared with people from my group her approximate age, they could not believe. She certainly has lost some weight but the mind is as sound as ever and has a passion for the Lord. Let us remember her in our prayers.
Love

Sorry to hear about the death of Thomas Gilbert. If I remember correctly he lived in Santa Cruz with Ann his wife. Fuzz was a very friendly and warm person. He will be missed by all. Ann, keep courage I know you are a person with a strong character who will pull through this one. My sympathy to the entire family.

To all and sundry,
I must break this mini reunion to report that I was privileged to meet Miss Evelyn Hordatt this morning at church. Auntie Evelyn as she was introduced to the congregation was part of a contingent of worshipers from the St. Savoiur' Anglican church in Curepe who are in retreat at the Credo House in Couva. They visited the St. Andrews Anglican Church where I provide musical accompaniment for the service.I had always wondered if and when I was going to meet this genteel lady (the likes of which are hardly noticed today). She looks a bit frail, still tiny but with a big heart and hug.

Hi Myrdith,
I do remember Dick Antoine. He resided in Sunset Villa but I don't have a clue where he is at this time. I'll ask Joan Parris if she knows...she seems to know the whereabouts of lots of our year group. Of course she will be in Tobago too...Dick was interested in Joan's roommate..I eh calling name!!! Maybe I'll ask her about him..another brain teaser!
See you around ..I love this...

Hi Errol:
Over the last few months it has been interesting reading all of the discourse among the fellow pre-service Mausicans. To be honest I began to doubt that I am in fact a Mausican as well. I think subconsciously I had my Mausican ring repaired and began wearing it again , I guess just to prove to myself that I really went to M.T.C. However, just having received the news of Tom's passing, I feel a sense of connection because I taught with Anne at Arouca A.C and remembered him as so pleasant and caring. My condolence to Anne and her family and to the Mausica family as a whole. As for Harold Telemaque, I remember him fondly. He interviewed me for my first teaching appointment and really gave me great tips on what constitutes a good teacher. To me he had a real firm but fatherly disposition.
Have a great day.

Another name to throw to the clan.... Dick Antoine..( 66 ), He was from south Trinidad and played the guitar. I can't recall where he resided in Mausica. The last time I heard of him, he was somewhere in USA more than 35 years ago. Does any one know of him or where he is ?It will be good to know.

Hi Winston,
Yes, we are from Sobo, Sobo Extension to be exact. If you still have the photos of Jean Reid from the Toronto reunion, that's me she's holding hands and sharing a laugh with. I know Roland, Michael, Mervyn and Marlene Jack from Point D'Or (Ramjallacksingh Street). I don't remember a Mc Ewin, though. I'll ask my brothers. (How come yuh change yuh name-yuh married Miss Dacent!!!)Mr. Reid was my Common Entrance teacher. Mr. Jules was the principal (head master, then) when I was in the infants class, then Frederick, then Trotman. Mr. Telemaque visited when I was in fifth standard and hadn't a clue what a Bachelor of Arts was. I remember thinking he could probably draw really well.
Take care.
Hi Conrad,
I take it that you are from Oropouche. Is your last name Daniel? (NO, I don't know you; it just makes sense that Da should start that name. Nice of you to say Hi.
I love the way this "message board" is bringing poeple together. Thanks, Errol. You probably don't even realize the great deed you're doing.

Hello Errol:
I am sending this to you in the hope that you would be able to get it out to Brenda Alexander and to all of the Mausicans who supported my husband, Michael Dudley Dickson through his illness and passing. To all of you who attended his wake and funeral and who collectively made such an impressive presence, I thank you for being there. You all came from so many parts of the globe to stand ,out of respect ,for him. My son and I will forever hold, in a special place in our hearts and memories, the picture of the massive Mausica group and what your presence conveyed about Dudley our husband, father, and friend. He, too, was a Mausican to the bone. I don't have to tell you that. For one reason or the other, I was unable to send acknowledgments to all of you. please allow this to suffice, then, to convey our depth of gratitude and appreciation to the Mausicans.

We are really holding out to accommodate those who still would like to and also the July Schedule for the Boat to Tobago is not yet ready. Re: Memories of Mausica
2007-May-13-1336hrs
MEMORIES OF MAUSICA
How I came to be called "Storm."
In the absence of text books our esteemed Harry Jo organised 'impromptu' concerts inviting students to showcase their talents. Most of us sang while a few played musical instruments. I decided to recite "The Storm" by Walter De La Mare. It was well received and I had to perform same at the official opening of the College.
How I came to be re-initiated
As the College opened in September (1963), it was the football season. After a few inter-hostel matches a representative team was formed. I found myself posting on the notice-board reports on all matches played by MTC. Our team was usually victorious as Winston 'Rick' Yallery-Arthur was a tower of strength in central defence. However, I kept pointing out to students that our team was not as 'strong' as was being touted. I therefore invited my Club, Fulham, to Mausica 'to show them up.' Fulham had the better of the exchanges that afternoon and I supported Fulham, much to the chagrin of Mausicans who decided that I should be initiated. Later that night there was this candlelight procession from Fair Haven to the tennis courts where I was painted, etc, etc.
Memories of my table tennis exploits
I recall during my interview for MTC that Harry Jo enquired of my table tennis ability and whether I thought that I could take a game off him. I had every confidence that I could, considering his advancing years and his physique. He came across for 'a knock' one afternoon and I outplayed him as he merely tried to keep the ball on the table. He became a fan of mine. I duly captured the MTC singles title and had my most difficult challenge against Yallery-Arthur in one of the semi-finals. Fair Haven supported me while Mayfair supported Rick. We played three games. It was a memorable evening as Rick was retrieving almost all my shots. Harry Jo invited PoSTC to spend the afternoon and bet a bottle of whisky that I would beat my opponent. I did. He bet again when we went to Port-of-Spain as their guests and again I did not disappoint. Harry Jo would bring his visitors to the Hall and call me whether it be Saturday or Sunday to play against them. I remained undefeated. Fortunately, I was always on campus whenever the occasion arose.
How I became Lawn Tennis champion
Following the official opening of the new courts on campus there would always be a large throng of learners. i decided to stay away from the courts but I had always yearned to learn. Fitzjames agreed to teach me during the Christmas vacation as I lived in Arima. Throughout that vacation I journeyed to Mausica and spent hours on court with Fitzy and his nephew, Clyde. My progress was rapid. When classes resumed in January almost everyone was asking whether I had been spending time on the beach, I was so tanned. When we went on court that week they were surprised. I added the Lawn Tennis singles title to my table tennis title. The effort had paid off and I remained grateful to Fitzjames.
Our first Sports Meeting in 1964
Interest in our first Sports Meeting at Mausica was aroused by Harry Jo who issued invitations to several dignitaries inclusive of the business sector since, he explained to us, his intention was 'to buy goodwill.'
Practice sessions were conducted every morning and afternoon by the four hostels. Each lecturer had agreed to donate a trophy for the marquee events such as the 100m, 400m, mile, relays and the Road Race. Gilmour Stephens, who won the high jump earlier that week, established himself as pre-race favourite and won both the 100m and 200m events as well as pilot Mayfair Mansion in the 4x100m relay for men. Annette Birch was the fastest among the women. I was training and coaching Errol Lashley of Mayfair to participate in the mile. I had to encourage him a great deal as he never fancied himself as a track athlete. The mile event would bring down the curtain on the day's programme. I was in Fair Haven but 'my horse' was in Mayfair Mansion. Selwyn Jacob and Esmond Francois, both of Fair Haven, were the favourites. It was a delicate situation for me but I positioned myself in the infield at the 200m marker and advised Errol re positioning himself during the race. Errol followed my instructions and caught and beat Francois after an epic duel during the final 150 metres of the race. I was delirious with joy and Fitz caught me celebrating with Errol on camera. It was a wonderful sports meeting.
Establishment of "The Mausican."
Mr Hamlyn Dukhan, Psychology lecturer, decided that we should publis a monthly magazine called "The Mausican." As the student who had beemn posting reports on the notice-board re our sporting exploits, I was automatically assigned to report on sports. The project was launched but suffered subsequently from late publications owing to the failure of others to keep deadlines.
Transfer from Fair Haven to Mayfair Mansion
After my first year at Fair Haven I decided to transfer to Mayfair Mansion and duly moved in during the last week. I spent part of the August vacation playing Lawn Tennis and planning to organise Mayfair to be more efficient. Felix Edinborough dropped in occasionally and I discussed with him the idea of 'Ministries' to deal with various aspects of life at Mausica. When Vernon Langdon of Arima entered Mausica as a first year he obviously joined Mayfair Mansion. He was a good table tennis player, a good middle distance athlete and a singer, inter alia. Errol became MTC's leading debater and Rick continued to be our key footballer. Mayfair Mansion was dominant.
Leading the MTC Choir to the National Choral Speaking Championship
MTC had won the Folk Singing Championship at the 1964 Music Festival at Queen's Hall singing 'Itaname' and 'Buddy Lindo.' As a member of that choir I vividly recall Mrs Cuffie's dramatic rendition as the soloist begging, even pleading and beseeching the captain to put her ashore. Then, I recall our rendition of 'Buddy Lindo' and here I remember the deceased Dudley Dickson who had brought some of these folk songs from Tobago for us to choose.Of course, our conductor was the indefatigable Fitzjames. The following year it was the Arts Festival and DG Cuffie thought that we must participate. Not many others besides yours truly had done choral speaking. We practised just before lunch with DG Cuffie explaining the poems to us so that we could feel them and convey those feelings to the audience. 'Journey of the Magi' and 'The Cataract of Lodore' reminded me of "Fall on your Knees" during our first Christmas season on Campus. 'The Cataract' was rather lengthy. We qualified for the finals but DGCuffie had to leave to go abroad as soon as College was closed. The final was carded during the second week of the vacation in July so members of the choir were asked to return to Campus until the final. DG Cuffie left me in charge of conducting the choir. It was a daunting task indeed but I scheduled sessions during our stay at Mausica where there were only about twenty of us. My fellow Mausicans were very co-operative and quite supportive. The evening of the finals eventually came and I felt confident. I had conducted school choirs before but this was Queen's Hall and the best six of the adult choirs. Before we began I tried to put them at ease. We all smiled. We gave a thrilling performance and we won. Several Mausicans turned up to support us and Fitzy and Harry Jo were proud. In 1967 I returned to the Arts Festival stage unattached and won both Oral Reading and Prose and Verse Speaking. Among the finalists in Prose and Verse Speaking was Wilton John representing MTC. Harry Jo told him during assembly on the following morning that a student had to respect a graduate.
Tribute to Harry Jo and Trevor "Mighty Soapseed" Davis
Harry Jo would invite questions at the end of his talks to us. Whenever he considered a question 'silly' he would say 'Next.' Trevor Davis won the calypso crown during our two years at MTC. I shall always remember this chorus:
"So don't mind he look so gay and easy
You must try to avoid getting him angry
Cause when he get vex in front of de class
We does feel as if he want to mash up we..next... next.. next..

I'm replying to Pat Ryan's question concerning Fyzabad Intermediate, now called Fyzabad Anglican Secondary. I am a 73-75 Mausican. I did not attend Inter but it was the school to which I was assigned after graduating from Mausica, and that I consider "home" after fifteen years of service, and some profound friendships (including one wirth Clare, the new principal, who was my colleague at the time). Last year, she came to New York with my commerative pen and tee shirt that marked our sixty fifth anniversary. Pioneer Yvonne Toussaint Pilgrim also taught at Inter; so did Daniel Gay, '75 graduate. Allan Noreiga was both a student and teacher there. Guess you'll be hearing from some folks.

It was simple really. The thing was getting out of hand so I came to what's left of my senses. The mug is precious for sentimental reasons which you would all understand. & nbsp;I realised that i do not love my friends or family any less because thaey grow older and lose some of their faculties ... the mug has become a symbol of that thought. Right now i don't think i really want a perfect mug. Life is really simple if we let some things be the way they are.
Thanks Tom.

I would like to know which Mausicans attended the Fyzabad Intermediate School in South Trinidad. Hope everyone has credit cards, if no credit card maybe those with can help those without. It is $70US a night, so one night is a down payment or credit card number. $375TT is for T&T Mausican s.Is it that Florence will now take the room on her own? I also hope CD's of MTC choir will be available for purchase at the Reunion in Tobago this year. Looking forward to meeting fellow students I have not seen since '66, as well as other members of the clan.
Bless you.
Myrdith.

Re: Dudley

On behalf of the Mausica Teachers' Alumni & Friends , New York Chapter, I wish to thank all the fellow-Mausicans and friends who sent in their tributes to our President and colleague, Michael Angelo Dudley Dickson. I am pleased to inform that Dudley had a send-off worthy of a king! How lovely and touching and how-so Michael! It was with dignity, style and grace, mixed with stirring emotions that filled the ambience of that celebration of his life. His son, Asante, ;rendered a one-of-a-kind reflexion of his father. Superb.
I was priviledged to speak on behalf of the New York Chapter. I did read out portions of the tributes sent to our website and topped it off with Mr Williams' tribute to Dudley

Mausica was highly represented by more than thirty colleagues. We were given the "important" seating of the first pews across from the immediate family. Songs of the Mausica Choir filled the air--Lead Kindly Light, Boca Chimes, The Hallelujah Chorus and Dudley departed the Church to the tune of Buddy Lindo.

Those who came from Canada, from New Mexico, from Maryland, from Washington, from South Carolina, from Georgia, from Florida to pay your respect and show your solidarity, we say thank you for being here for one who was a " Mausican to de bone."

May he rest in Peace. He will be sorely missed.

P.S. We have proposed a "Dudley Memorial Scholarship Fund" and contributions could be sent to our Treasurer, Mary Modeste.

Re: Dudley Dickson
2007-Apr-05-2148hrs
Today, 28th March, 2007, is exactly three months since the passing of my wife of 45 years. Today, 28th March, 2007 is the day that I am writing this memorial to celebrate the life of my dear friend of 44 years, Dudley Michael “Tola” Dickson. I have been fortunate to have been shown the nuances of the word love, from these two magnificent personalities, to whom I shall be eternally thankful for a condition which has had a positive impact on my living.

I first met Dudley on Monday 13th September, 1963 “on campus” at Mausica Teachers’ College. A busy-body, true man-for-all- seasons. Energetic, organizational, empathetic and self-less, focused on results through ole talk and that infectious laugh to make the task doable. Dudley assisted in forging the network which laid the foundation for the successful installation of the pioneers. He operationalised the students into work groups in the day – kitchen and residential halls – and at nights, in true Buddy Lindo style, with cuatro in hand he would lead the primitive Mausica choir in singing and other performing arts. Undoubtedly, this role conditioned Dudley for his outstanding contribution to the Mausica Choral Society. Off campus, at sporting, cultural, debating and other socially enhancing events, Dudley was an effusive cheer-leader which endeared him to the Academic, Administrative and Hospitality staffs and his student colleagues. Dudley became my “on campus” barber, and I supplied him his week-end fare of home prepared goodies from my wife’s kitchen.

Upon graduating from Stout State, Dudley resided in the Bronx, N.Y. and accommodated me there on my first visit to N.Y. I spent five days at Dudley’s on my outward journey back to T&T after a study period in DC and Penn State. We had a hearty laugh when I thanked him for giving me the experience of living in a steam laundry through his house heating system. To Dudley, this was no big thing, he was simply overwhelmed to accommodate his friend. Dudley distilled his friendship by calling me from his bed of affliction to offer words for healing at my wife’s demise, two days before her internment. His voice discernably weakened by the ravages of pain and suffering, but undiminished in its capacity for caring and sincere fellowship.

A member of the queue in the departure lounge has gone through the glass door, leaving the rest of us in the waving gallery peering through the glass. At a time, quietly saying our goodbyes. At another, looking at the shrinking queue-line and pondering, who’s next? Is it I --- to fly?

Good-bye my friend, it is worth to have earned your friendship. Free at last, God has called you to another place for rest and peace.

To Myrtle and Asante, be assured that Dudley lived a rich and exemplary life. Consider that he is free at last. Be strong and let the process of healing proceed.

Love you lots.

Re: Dudley Dickson
2007-Apr-05-2250hrs
Delivered by Dr.Cliff Bertrand at Dudley's viewing:
It is strange
It is strange that the lord has called our brother Dudley home.
It is not strange that the lord has ended all Dudley's suffering.
It is strange that the lord has chosen this season of the year, the spring to start a new life for Dudley.
It is not strange that this is the season of the Resurrection commemoration of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
The end of his earthly life as man.
Therefore, please bear with me while I expound on the occasion of the resurrection and its significance to our brother Dudley.
It is something wonderful to think about the holy season of Easter, because Christ's resurrection in not just a fact.
It is an irrevocable, unchangeable, and eternal truth.
Dudley has risen, he has been taken away by the lord's angels to eternal rest.
Today, I want you to listen to some truths from God's word as we think of the resurrection. The promise of the resurrection .
The fact that Jesus came alive again from the dead also guarantees Dudley resurrection.
In John 6:40 ,Jesus said to those who believe in him, I myself will raise him upon the last day
He repeated that promise at least three times in verses 39 54 of this chapter in John,
Then in the upper room Jesus told his disciples, Because I live, you will also (John 14:19)
Jesus wanted us to have the absolute assurance of life after death. Even though we may die and our bodies are put in the ground, because of Jesus we will live again.
The promise of the resurrection is comfort in the presence of death, when you have the sad task of placing your love one in casket before the alter.
1 Corinthians 15:42 44, It is sown a perishable body; it is raised an imperishable body,
it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory,
it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power,
it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body
After years of preparation the lord has called Dudley, will give him a new body,
will reward him for his faithfulness and placed him beside the father in glory.
To Myrtle, Assante and families on both sides may the warmth of tender memories created by Dudley ,and the love of those around you, bring you comfort and peace?
Please accept my sympathy on behalf of my family and the staff and your absent colleagues of Mausica Teachers College
Cliff Bertrand
