Earl John and Tobago

Even before I knew that Earl John was a fellow Mausican, he had a special place in the hearts of the sporting fraternity of Canaan/Bon Accord (CBA) in Tobago. He was always well received in Bon Accord. He became one of us - Ah we boy.
Every year, he would bring a contingent of athletes to the Western Springfield Track and Field meeting. He did not stay in a Guest house, but rather at the home of Leroy Bristol of CBA. He was a part of our Tobago family. We would meet during the annual Village Olympics as CBA competed against Arima in various sports. As the Tobago representative on the TTFA, I interacted with him on numerous occasions each time, with a smile on his face.
The contribution made by Earl to the country is exactly what we, as Mausicans, were entrusted with by our mentors. Don't just be teachers, go out and impact your communities. In his post Mausica years, Earl was the quintessential Mausican.
Rest in Peace Earl.
