Many thanks to Barbara Burgess and Monica Davis who identified the Bromeliad for me. Only yesterday I learnt that a friend here might actually have a live one... will check it out. I don't think we can stop our fellow Mausicans from leaving us. What we can do however, is to let them know that we love and appreciate them before they get to the other side. I think the record is good on that score... part of the evidence is the increasing number of grand- Mausicans who make it to the reunions.
