RE: CAN WE TTALK?

2020-MAR-12-2025Hrs
My Fellow Fellow Mausicans,
Laughter is the best medicine. No wonder why we were so healthy at MTC.
Allyuh remember de Rennies. One morning in assembly,  de Joe encouraged de relationship: “Let de damn ting grow!” Inez, yuh remember dat?
Yesterday, ah call meh pardnah, Geezmo,. We laugh we head orf. He and Sistah Bernice represented “The Red Guards” at Muchacho’s homegoing. Kentie,( dat is Bernice sweet name fuh de Geez) and I took ah walk dong Memory Lane. He was in June Joseph Choir. He sing in Queens Hall fuh Music Festival wen Cuthbert Mathews get he nickname, “Clang”. Remember de song, “ Clang, Clang, Clang on the anvil” ? Nah. I wasn’t in dat choir. I was in de folksong choir, de flagship of MTC. I like tuh dance , sing and wine. I sing in “Village Bacchanal” . Meh roommate, Carlsbury, was de starboy. We use tuh sing all over de country and in de neighborin islands. Is in Dominica we get , steal , borrow “La Porrinden”.  We even use ah cuss word on stage at ah concert in Goodwill, Dominica. De whole audience gasped. Dem teachers didn’t know patios. Like Sparrow singing “Sasaye” “Cheweh mewh”. Oh Gawd, Sparrow, yuh go kill meh!”
By de way, let’s approach the media to memorialize MTC’s contributions to the Arts.  On Saturday, February, 23 rd, , when Despers won the Panorama, Cecil Francis, alias Sensi, reminded me that Carl Caton introduced pan in Picadilly Anglican School, in POS. Carl was his teacher and  Sensi later captained Despers when Rudolph Charles migrated to the States. Mausicans in everything. Let’s “Live The Legacy”.
So long for now.
Thank you, Big Bother, Errol.
Peace and Love.
As usual.
Rodney Foster, 66-68.
