RE: Hi

2013-Jul-27-0715Hrs
Hello Esmond,
I was unable to have a long chat with you and you left so soon. You would have been delighted to have met so many of the pioneers and my group. There were about 44 of us there. The evening was well attended and enjoyed by the Mausican family: the Home landers, Canadians, New Yorkers, Grenadians, Cayman Islanders and the Londoners. I almost had the opportunity to meet you in Ontario in August. Hope you will see many endearing pictures of the Reunion. God bless.
Barbara.

Dear Marina,
What a wonderful longevity was given to your Mom! Bless her soul. May she now rest in peace.
It been quite a few years that you have been taking care of her and you have helped her to 102 years. Don't let the pain of her passing overwhelm you, but rejoice in knowing the joys you have shared with her. God bless.

Re: MAUSICA WEEKLY EMAILS

Hi fellow Mausicans,
The 2013 reunion has been such a wonderful experience, that I cannot wait for our next "todoo". What an experience for my wife , who is not Mausican nor Trinbagonian.
I though that the Saturday brunch with the 1971-1975 group will be the highlight of my reunion, but was I wrong. The Mausica campus never seemed so good to me. I enjoyed every monent of it. Just being there with old friends was satisfying.
Old age caused me to miss the Nature day (rest day). Never been to the beach in Point Fortin, and although I did not take a dip in the water, it was another well planned day. The views from Sando hill and the breakfast was fit for this king.
The best was saved for last......great finale.
When and where is the next even......ah ready, ah ready.

I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the organizing committee on such a grand reunion. This took a lot of hard work, commitment and willingness. It was so refreshing to meet our Mausica family on common ground at the college. What nostalgia! "Hats off" to the committee. I must make special mention of Joan Brathwaite with whom I communicated. She was very polite and helpful. Although we may be miles apart from each other let us do our best to keep the Mausica family alive.

Dear Errol,
As faithful as ever, even with all the round of activities, I see. Friday was an emotional time for me. Oh what joy to see so many of my old friends again! And I mean old in the sense of long-time, not age. We have aged gracefully. I did not see any sign of old age when you were doing the electric slide.
Well, I just finished ironing my gown for tomorrow. I am not feeling 100% but I am determined to be there. Since some requested a copy of the poem I did at the concert on Tuesday, I am attaching it here.
Love to all,
Hazel

I planted the Moruga pepper and it is growing like wild fire. It is so hot that on my second round of home-made pepper sauce I had to some fresh mango puree to bring the "heat" down. The mango added great flavor to my wonderful pepper sauce which has a little garlic, shadow benny, spanish thyme and onions. Yes, I am praising myself on my creation. No patent on this you can borrow my recipe and make some just like it. A word of caution to your European, Canadian, and American friends. West Africans are good with this.

Dear Errol,
Just being able to be in Tobago and being able to have the gift of sight to 'see' so many beautiful people, many of whom I haven't seen for so many years, brought me a deep sense of joy and gratitude. I thank God for the part you, Errol, have played over the years and thank Him for preserving me in the land of the living to just 'be' here. On Friday night (19th) I was overwhelmed with God's goodness to me, and nothing else mattered. To all who were there and to all who helped, thank you. To the whole crew at Papa Joe's, thanks for your fun company! Mausicans are truly family!
Love

Dear Errol,
I am so sorry to learn of Samdaye's passing. I always remember her pleasant smile. She and Shyam made a lovely couple and I was very fond of them. She was my second year at Kirkendale and we watched the romance blossom. I hurt for them and with them when they lost a child some years ago. May she rest in peace. My condolences to Shyam.
Well, believe it or not, the long-awaited reunion begins tomorrow. Hope to see many of you during the week. I am still trying to persuade some from my year group to attend. We never have a large turnout. Ah well... can't win them all.
Those of you who may have written me and not received a response , please understand that it is not that I have deliberately ignored you but my yahoo took on a mind of its own some months ago. Most mail goes into trash and if I do not respond immediately, like I am doing now, it disappears, so I opened a new account :thomahye2013@gmail.com

To Felix, thank you for re-issuing it. Errol, thank you for forwarding it.
Teaching was one of the jobs Christ did, the others were preacher and healer.
Only an old teacher could be walking down a street in another town, and be suddenly lifted off her feet by a burly young man who says, "Thank you , miss." To the amazement of all onlookers. Only an old teacher calls for a ride in a big airport, and the young man driving the wagon, says to everyone- "That's my teacher," with so much pride that the airport wagon becomes a Rolls Royce., with everyone smiling. Only a teacher could be called up on the day of the first inaguration of America's African-American President, and be told,"We are all here in DC, the whole class, and we just decided that if it was not for you, we would not be here, so I had to call and let you know."
And that, all of that, is more precious than gold.
Linda Edwards- third generation teacher, proud of the fact that there are four women in the fourth generation, on three continents.

Anybody knows if retirees have been paid arrears for the period 2008-2011? Although we filled a form and sent it in to paysheets, I haven't received mine as yet.
