Obituary for David Alphonse Roberts-Mausican 1970-1972

We wish to aannounce the passing of yet another, Mausican, David Alphonse Roberts 1970-1972. He came to New York as an International teacher in 2001 and died suddenly on New Year's Day. A funeral service was held yesterday in New York. Following is his obituary:

David Alphonse Roberts was born on Novembr 24 1949 to Charles and Theresa Roberts in Laventille, Trinidad. He was the fourth of eight children. David was the bright one in the family. He went to Success Village Roman Catholic School where he excelled. His teaching career started at Bethlehem RC School as a monitor, then to Teacher's Training College at Mausica in 1970-1972. He taught at Mucurapo Boy's School, St. Dominic's RC School and St. Anthony's College, but St. Dominic's was where he made his mark as acting Principal. His career took him to the United States, where he taught at P.S. 306 in New York for six years. He continued to educate himself, achieving his Master's Degree in Education. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers Solomon Lewis, Carlton Johnson, Kelvin Roberts, Victor Roberts and Dexter Roberts; sisters Viola Roberts-Moses, Esther Roberts-Solomon and Veronica Prudhomme-Gilbert and a host of nieces, nephews ,other relatives and friends. Our condolences to his family, friends and to his Mausican Year group.
