I hope this reaches you in time for this week's blog, but next week is not too late. From July 13- 20 we celebrated the 9th Calabash Festival and we have started planning to make 2015 the best ever, to celebrate our 10th.July 2015 also marks the 20th year of the start of volcanic activities on Montserrat... don't panic! the volcano has been quiet since February 10th, 2010. I am thinking that this is the Caribbean island for the 2015 Mausica Reunion. Check the link below and visit these sites:

We are moving into the production phase of our geothermal energy programme, rebuilding our country, with lots of opportunities for investments. But check it out. Mausicans will be able to participate actively as a guest group in our activities.

My loving mother, Margaret Jordan, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Tendercare Living Centre.

Dear Errol
Condolence to the family and friends of Sydna. My prayers go out to her mom Majorie, brother Angus, son Kern, daughter Keisha, and their dad Clive. Peace be with them. My friendship with Sydna lasted 44 years (1970-2014).
At the 2007 Mausica Reunion in Tobago, she and I shared a room. During that time I got to know her even better. She is a very caring person. She is the reason for my callaloo now tasting like 'mammy used to make it'. She taught me the secret at 2007 Reunion, and I am a pro at it now.
Good bye my friend. May your soul rest in peace.
I am sharing a pic of Sydna with the Mausica family. It was taken at the picnic in Eisenhower Park during the Big Apple Reunion in 2011. She is wearing the Mausica cap with dark shades and a figured blouse.

Really saddened to hear about Sydna's passing. As I mentioned to Joan when she called me to inform me of her illness last week, that I always saw Sydna as a tall, strong woman possibly of the tribe of Amazon women, maybe because I was short. I always had to look up to her. I always did. We need to cover her children, her mother and her family with our prayers and good thoughts. We pray that this new journey on which she had embarked is smooth and filled with welcomes, smiles and bright sun shiny days. I am sure because for me she was a gentle soul, she also had the gentlest smile and eyes. Rest in Peace My Sister. Maria

RE: BRUNCH/REUNION 2015

Hi Errol,

Your efforts at keeping us in touch with each other continue to be highly appreciated.

Thanks to the almost one hundred alumni who attended the Brunch at the VIP Lounge of the Hasely Crawford Stadium. This occasion provided another opportunity for some of us to reconnect with college mates whom we did not see for over forty years in some cases. In fact there were some persons who were attending a gathering of this kind for the first time and who vowed that they will not miss the next one!

Of course, Reunion 2015 was the topic of much lively discussion. While approx. one third of those present would like the next reunion to take place on a cruise, the overwhelming majority were in favour of an all-inclusive resort in another Caribbean island. Some islands were suggested.

Since we would want the reunion to have maximum attendance, the Planning Committee is swayed by this overwhelming response and has decided that Reunion 2015 will be held at an all-inclusive resort. No details can be given as yet as prices for July 2015 will not be available before the end of August-September 2014.

Please share this information and look out for details in subsequent emails. Colleagues are reminded that if they want to continue receiving these weekly emails they must inform Errol.

Sydna (Belgrove) Grell 68-70 passed away this afternoon Wednesday after suffering a massive stroke last week. Her home was destroyed by fire about a month ago and members of the Mausica 50^th Reunion committee had visited to empathize with her.

May she rest in peace
