Fellow mausicans,

Attached please find basic Layout for Tower and Suite style dorm accommodation. Graduate housing is similar to Suite style but each unit has its own kitchenette and can also have more than two bedrooms. Also Grad housing is one of the newer buildings on campus.

Mausica Alumni and Friends is a fantastic group and will host another memorable reunion in 2011.

Today I attended a Teachers'Retirees meeting and guess what people from '64-'66? I met Dennis Ramlal.I sat next to him and introduced myself and discovered that he was from my year group. We had not seen each other for 44 years. He lived in Fair Haven and his room mate was Ottley. He is now joining our blog. His is dennisramlal1@yahoo.com. The character next to '@'is the digit one.

Myrdith, he remembers you and wanted to know what became of Joyce Ramdeen who seems to have dropped of the face of the earth.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your responses to the Reunion Housing Accommodation. It is important that you tell us your choice for either Tower, Suite or Grad Hall.

Here they are again:

TOWER: 13 floor complex, single and double rooms, communal bathrooms, Mausica-style hostel.

Single $45.pp per night.  Double  $35. pp per night

SUITE: 2 story complex made up of 10 units.Each unit consists of two adjoining rooms with 4 

single beds. Semi-private bathrooms, meaning 1 bathroom per unit (4 people).

Single $53.  Double: $43. pp, per night. 

GRADUATE HALL: 5 story facility with 4, 3 and 2 bedroom suites. Also houses both single and double bedrooms. Shared kitchenette and bathroom.

Single: $70. Double  $60. pp, per night.

All these facilities are located on Campus, where most of our activities will take place. We will provide transportation where needed. 

The Planning Committee meets today and by the end of October , scheduled events and cost will be sent to you.

Greetings everyone

I went to the optamologist yesterday to see about my eyes (apparently too many dazzling ladies in TT) and saw Ms. Hordatt...We had a long chat. She's very alert and remembers a lot and was even using the cellphone. She also expressed concerns about teacher training and feels that in addition to the university degree, there should be  professional certification similar to what obtains in the law field of law.  She will be 92 years young on January 1st.

Here I am again. For those people who have indicated their need for housing accommodation at the Big Apple Reunion 2011, here is a summary of our rate schedule:

Tower Single: $45.00 per night

Tower Double: $35.00 per night

Suite Single: $53.00 per night

Suite Double $43.00 per night

Grad Dorm Single: $70.00 per night

Grad Dorm Double: $60.00 per night

PS. These are the rates for 2010. However, we have been advised by the Hofstra University authorities of an expected increase of $2 to $3 for 2011 rates. Please bear this in mind.

Remember also, to include $10.00 for the linen package if you should chose the Tower or Suite accommodation.

We need to know your choice of Accommodation. Please choose from the following:

This information is helpful to facilitate us in blocking off the rooms of your choice.

Vernella Alleyne-Toppin will be acting in the DRIVER'S seat for the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, the Honorary Mrs.Kamla Persad Bissessar.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Vernella. I like the way she accepted the honour with the promise to do her best while serving in this position. "She felt honoured to be the first Tobagonian woman to be chosen to act as Prime minister"

Our 2nd end of year lime will be held on Saturday Dec. 4, from 5pm to 10pm. Allum has again secured the rec room at 5580 Sheppard Ave E (entrance off Ormerod - 1 block north of Sheppard, East side of Markham Rd.).
