Dear Errol,
I think a " DONATION of BOOKS " to the children's section of the Grenada Public Library an excellent idea. Are we going to have the books annotated as a gift from us ? To whom and where are they to be sent?
I am keen to contribute. I hope to see a book list ASAP. However, with or without a book list I will make a contribution.
Can't wait for July to see my fellow Mausicans again !!!
Pat, I enjoy reading your greetings from Montserrat. The reason is that my maternal grand parents came from Montserrat... I remember beautiful, sparkling, clear water there when I visited many, many moons ago. Hope it is still so.

Welcome back Errol. Re books for Grenada... I would like to make a "suggestment" ( a pioneer jokey word) that people bring their books to Grenada where they can be boxed for handing over. Circulate the wish list on the blog... you may get duplication of books but we can still feel free to bring what we can. It's a great idea so let's work on it. Pat

Both Marjorie and I are looking forward to to the Grenada Experience.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of my first book, "Remember Wen?", I will donate a few copies of my two books and CD to the Grenada Public Library.
In addition, I would like to be included in the list of performers. I am working on a new piece and and could expand on a story entitled "Mausica" from " Remember Wen?"

Re our prior discussion, we'd like to seek your help/support in the preparing the Detailed Programme: In this regard, taking the overall programme already circulated as given, the Committee would like you to:

1. Assist us embed 'the Mausica Flaviour/Element' into the programme especially as applied to the Gala and Evening of Culture.Gala: Recall that Pioneers did something at Gala in Tobago. We need an item in which the same spirit is embedded. We'd appreciate your rounding up Pat and other mausicans and putting the item together for us.

Enven of culture: Here, in collaboration with other Mausicans, we'd like you to identify and round up the various Mausicans in Trinidad & Tobago will be able to do an item or perhaps two short items as part of the cultural evening.

MC & Gala and Evening of Culture: We need to select a suitable individual to MC at Gala and cultural evening.Please send us two ranked suggestions for each.

Vital: Felix as you proceed with these items, please keep Brenda and Betha LaHee constantly and absolutely in the loop.

A previous item: Donating a collection of Children's Books to the Grenada Public Library: Felix this item has been discussed and a request sent. It will be appreciated if you'd be kind enough to assist us in co-ordinating this effort for us.

The situation: The Children's book situation at the Library is very poor indeed. The present 'collection' is old and tired and is so tiny that children must sit and read what they can at the Library; they can no longer borrow books. In a word, this is an absolute need. We can provide you with a booklist.

How? We'll like to send out a general e-mail again informing all Mausicans that we'll be doing this and that you are the contact person for that sub-project.You may then put together a small committee of Mausicans to organise it. Please let us know as soon as possible, whether we can inform everyone that you, or another Mausican who may be selected, will be co-ordinating this effort.

Vital: Keep Brenda and Betha LaHee in the loop.

Just saying Hi!

Hope everyone had a special Easter after a fruitful Lenten season. We are now getting ready for Calabash Week which runs from July 11 - 19... just before I set out for Grenada. Still have had no response from two non= Mausica persons in Grenada who might have helped me with my search for info re my great great grandmother... but that's life and I can live with that. I'll see what's possible when I get there. Cheers...Pat

Dear Errol, I have attended all the reunions so far but I have to miss this one. My husband is expecting an assignment in St. Maarten and I plan to spend the entire summer vacation with him. Earlier this week we decided to drive to Port of Spain to examine the preparations and indeed there are many changes. I happened to see only two vagrants though. My husband told me that they carted them off to two containers at St. Ann's hospital.
When Mr Obama arrived at the Hyatt They ushered him in through a private entrance to avoid the press; Chavez was not so lucky and they mobbed him.

That e-mail was sent to you on February 23, 2009 but it dealt with other Reunion matters and was not specifically dedicated to Registration and receipt of funds. The relevant portion is given below, but we'll forward the e-mail to you.
In the meantime, we received your Registration and US$160.00
"We also wish to apologise to the several Mausicans who have sent completed Registration Forms with their cheques enclosed hand have not received responses.
In fact, given an number of unforeseen accuracies our communication element has left much to be desired. But we are moving to make necessary corrections. In the meantime, you may continue enquiring by e-mail to aantoine@spiceisle.com. Please enquire about registration and receipt of cheques in an e-mail dedicated strictly to that purpose. The subject will be Receipt of Registration & Cheque and will ask simply, "Have you received Registration and cheque of so US$ $TT etc for Joe Bloke; for Joe bloke & One Call" to which a 'yes' or 'no' reply can be given. Of course, given the excellent mail service betweenn Grenada and the rest of the world more or less 100 % of mails sent will arrive - and within normal time-frames.
All other questions should be handled by separate e-mail.

It is too much for them, when he has set up something to get that info. He said that registrations were coming in fast and furious.

Alphonsus sent us an email. I got it on the Mausica email of 26th February, letting us know how we can verify if our registrations and cheques were received. In the last Mausica email someone asked Alphonsus for a list of all the names of those whose registrations and cheques were received. I think that that will be a really challenging task, when they can just send an email to Alphonsus' email address and follow the instructions and they will get a reply positive or negative regarding receipt of their registrations and cheques. Oh I forgot to put that you have to use Alphonsus' email address. Will forward the email of 26th Feb. to you so that you can see it. Remind people that they can find out this way.

Hi People,
You all know that it must be hair pulling time for the Grenada Committee. So let us give them a break.
In the Mausica Email of Thursday 26th February, Alphonsus sent to let us know that there is an system set up and strictly dedicated the purpose of finding out if registration and monies were received. Here is what you do.
When you click on New, go to the Subject section and type in : REGISTRATION & CHEQUE RECEIPT. Then go down and ask the question " HAVE YOU RECEIVED REGISTRATION AND CHEQUE OF US$.... OR $EC.... FOR (PUT YOUR NAME HERE OR THE NAMES OF THE TWO PEOPLE ON THE FORM, IF YOU REGISTERED FOR SOMEONE ELSE ALSO) then Send. A reply of "YES" or "NO" will come back to you. Try it. I did and it worked. Technology is becoming more and more amazing to me daily.
They have said that registrations are coming in fast and furious these days and along with their daily normal schedule, this reunion must have them going. They must be taking their vitamins on a daily basis or hooking up with the energizer bunny. So let us try to ease them up a little. Printing a list of all the names they have received so far will be challenging for them I am sure. This is why the above system was set up. Check it out to allay your fears. If it does not work.
